Spancrete® Suspended Floor

Heavy-duty value in lightweight concrete

For decades, Spancrete precast, prestressed hollowcore plank has been the material of choice in the construction of floors and roofs for all types of commercial, industrial, and residential structures. Thousands of homeowners are already experiencing the quiet, secure, long-lasting benefits of building with precast. Discover how you can incorporate this proven, economical system into your plans.

Precast plank, up to forty feet, can clear span the entire first level of your home, resulting in a full lower level of completely open, unobstructed space. Plank is thinner than conventional wood construction, allowing for reduced wall height or higher ceilings; yet it is also stronger, bearing the weight of partition walls, fireplaces, spas and heavy floorings such as granite and marble.

Precast concrete stores energy which makes heating and cooling more comfortable and cost efficient.

On front-to-back sloping lots, building a garage floor with Spancrete plank opens up inexpensive, usable space below for a second, full-sized garage, storage or boat house. This space also can be finished as a recreation room, home office, guest apartment, gym - even an indoor swimming pool!

Spancrete can be used to create striking outdoor balconies, decks and patios. This precast system is designed to accommodate a variety of custom finishes such as tile, brick or stone.

Spancrete plank meets or exceeds all local fire rating requirements. It does not burn, and along with its corrosion-, pest- and weather-proof qualities, this can result in a substantial savings on insurance, maintenance and repair. Precast reduces noise so well that it is preferred by hotel builders to any other material.

Manufactured to fit your plans, Spancrete precast plank is delivered ready to install. A typical residential installation takes only a day or so, and work can continue on your new house immediately. Plank rests on your foundation walls, requiring no special adjustments to your floor plan. Minimal preparation is needed for carpet, tile or other coverings. Textures and knock-down ceilings can be applied directly to the plank surface.
